Cygnus has a dedicated team to take up credit-research projects for Commercial Banks in areas like:

I Techno Economic Viability Studies (TEV) which are essentially credit appraisals for

a) Green field projects

b) Expansion projects

c) Acquisitions

II Sectoral Monitoring – to track sectors, in which the bank has major exposures, on a continuous basis as per the parameters decided by the Bank.

III Rehabilitation and Restructuring – of companies with stressed assets.

I) TEV Studies – Cygnus takes up credit appraisals of Greenfield projects as well as diversification and expansion projects in a range of industries in manufacturing and services sectors. The sectors also include emerging ones like Biotechnology, Non Conventional energy, higher education, IT parks, commercial an real estate. Cygnus has a structured framework for carrying out Techno Economic Viability Studies, which encompasses study of critical aspects like promoters, management, market, technology, costs(project cost and operational costs) and financials, bench marking of financials and costs with comparable projects.

Cygnus has developed a proprietary multi factor system to rate the projects objectively. Besides, Cygnus evaluates the project on Debt service Coverage Ratio under multiple scenarios. It also does risk assessment and suggests measures for mitigation of risk. Besides a comprehensive report, Cygnus also delivers to the Banks the Spread Sheets used for analysis and appraisals.

Cygnus is empanelled by all major Banks in India like State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank & State Bank of Hyderabad Cygnus completed a number of projects of varied sizes in diverse sectors across the country.

II) Rehabilitation and Restructuring - Cygnus takes up Rehabilitation and Restructuring proposals for the cases with stressed assets. Scope of such projects involves identification of the Stressed Assets – as per mutually agreed criteria, business and financial analysis of the unit, Diagnosis of the problems/issues, Formulation of R & R plan and Suggested plan of action.

III) Sectoral Monitoring Cygnus can track the major sectors, the bank is exposed to as per the parameters specified by the bank to enable the bank take decisions on Risk exposure and to formulate credit marketing strategies (to enter new sectors or enlarge market share in Current sectors).
